ReadWriteWeb have an article on their site stating that Google Street View is taking the camera’s into retail stores to further develop the Google Maps application. It started off as a rumor but retailers are starting to come forward claiming that Google has indeed already been inside their stores and taken a series of photos. Google have also come out and said that they are taking photo’s for Street View inside stores.

Pretty cool.

My question is, will Google be heading into porn shops? What about brothels? Or strip clubs? Or the local chemist and you find your 16 year old daughter in there shopping for pregnancy tests? As a parent I think Google needs to stay out of these kinds of stores. However, as a fat pervert, I think it is fucking awesome! You could get a real feel for what some of the women look like in your local brothel before you go in and spend your hard earned cash. You could find where the best porn is kept in your local porn shop so you could quickly drop in and out before anyone recognises you. The potential for Street View inside stores is unlimited!

There only other downside is that there would be no need for sites like People of Walmart. Sigh. I love that site!

Anyway, I would like to congratulate Google for showing some real initiative here. Well done!
