Recently, both the French government and the German government have come out and have told their citizens that Internet Explorer 6 is shit and you shouldn’t use it (not in those exact words, but it sounds good!). Google have even come out and said that Chinese hackers were able to hack into Gmail accounts of Chinese activists using IE6.

YOU NEED TO STOP USING IE6!

Unfortunately, I am stuck using Internet Explorer 6 every day I am at work. My employer refuses to upgrade from IE6 to a more stable browser. Any calls to change fall on deaf ear. Idiots.

Everyone is out to destroy IE6. Hell, even I am. But why? Why shouldn’t you use IE6? Let me explain.

Security Issues with IE6

Internet Explorer is full of flaws and exploits that internet assholes can take advantage of. This could be hacking into your accounts, installing spyware without you knowing and your personal details are exposed in IE6 for any hacker to grab. As I said earlier, Chinese hackers used IE6 to hack Gmail accounts. As I type this Microsoft are frantically trying to fix this issue. They admit that IE6 was used to hack Gmail.

Standards

IE6 is not up to scratch when it comes to browser standards. It falls behind. WAY BEHIND. Almost all websites including the webs biggest and most popular sites including Twitter, YouTube and Facebook are no longer built to support IE6.

So, now what?

I am against IE6. In fact, I am against Internet Explorer all together. Dont get me wrong, I love Microsoft products, I just hate Internet Explorer. There are other browsers out there that are better quality, quicker, more stable and sexier. Please, do yourself a favor and switch to anyone of these browsers.
